Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the PicTrawl browser extension handles information. PicTrawl is published by the same team as HLSMate and shares its website and support channel.
The short version
PicTrawl scans the page you are on and saves the images you pick. The scan runs in your browser. Image URLs, page content, file names and download history are not sent to our servers.
What is processed, and where
- Page content and image URLs: read in your browser only, to build the list you see in the window.
- Your selection and settings: stored locally in the browser (chrome.storage.local), such as the size filter, layout, naming template and target folder.
- Downloaded files: written by the browser's own download manager to your local disk.
- No account, no sign-in, no server-side profile is created.
Permissions and why they are needed
activeTab: read the tab you clicked from, only after you click the toolbar icon.scripting: run the scan function inside that tab.downloads: save the images you selected.storage: keep your filters and naming settings between sessions.
What PicTrawl does not do
- It does not upload page content, image files, URLs or download history.
- It does not create accounts or require an email address.
- It does not use analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs inside the extension.
- It does not bypass DRM, paywalls, sign-ins or other access controls.
- It does not read page text, form fields, passwords or cookies.
Advertising and cookies
The extension itself currently shows no advertisements. This website may display advertising (for example Google AdSense) and may use cookies for that purpose, under the same terms as the rest of hlsmate.com. Website advertising does not change what the extension processes locally.
Feedback and support
If you send feedback through the feedback page, we receive what you write there (including any email address you choose to provide) and standard server logs for abuse prevention. Please do not include passwords or private content.
Children
PicTrawl is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's release notes.
