1. Service description

HLSMate is a browser extension and local downloader page that helps users detect and save web video resources they are authorized to access, including common formats such as HLS, M3U8, MP4, and WebM.

2. Lawful use

You may use HLSMate only when you have legitimate access and permission to save the content. You must not use HLSMate to download, copy, distribute, or store unauthorized copyrighted content, or to violate website terms, applicable laws, or third-party rights.

3. Technical limitations

  • HLSMate does not support bypassing DRM, Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, or copyright protection measures.
  • HLSMate does not guarantee support for every website, player, live stream, or encrypted media format.
  • Some websites, including YouTube, may be explicitly unsupported.
  • Network failures, server limits, cross-origin restrictions, or browser policies may cause downloads to fail.

4. User responsibilities

  • You are responsible for confirming the legality and permitted use of downloaded content.
  • You must not use HLSMate for infringement, abuse, attacks, automated scraping, or unlawful activity.
  • You assume the risks associated with downloading, saving, and using media files.

5. Intellectual property

The HLSMate name, icon, page design, extension code, and related text are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them in a way that creates confusion without authorization.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

HLSMate is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, support for every website, or suitability for your specific needs. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct or indirect losses arising from using or being unable to use HLSMate.

7. Changes and termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts or all of HLSMate at any time. Updates to these terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of HLSMate means you accept the revised terms.
