Install Guide

Use the store version after publishing, or load the local extension directory during development.

Install from Edge Add-ons

  • Open the HLSMate listing in Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
  • Click “Get” and confirm the extension installation.
  • Pin HLSMate to the toolbar from the browser extension menu.

Install from Chrome Web Store

  • Open the HLSMate listing in Chrome Web Store.
  • Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm the installation.
  • Pin the extension, then open a page with video to test detection.

Load the local extension

  • Open edge://extensions/ or chrome://extensions/.
  • Enable Developer mode.
  • Click “Load unpacked”.
  • Select the project’s extension directory.
  • Start the local website and confirm http://localhost:5173/en/hlsdownloader/ is reachable.

Reload or update

  • After editing extension files, return to the extensions page and click “Reload” for HLSMate.
  • Refresh the target video page so the content script is injected again.
  • If the downloader page cannot connect, confirm the extension is allowed to access the local downloader URL.
